Welcome to Stern Angus

We are a fourth generation Angus stud founded in 1937, located in South Canterbury and servicing clients New Zealand wide.

With a simple breeding philosophy and a reputation for producing structurally sound cattle with balanced Estimated Breeding Values, the herd has developed a strong New Zealand following and growing export semen and embryo sales presence particularly in Australia.

At Stern we aim to breed Practical Performance Cattle that can go anywhere and perform. Our clients dominate calf sales across the Central South Island from Castle Rock, Wanaka, Omakau, Omarama, Palmerston, Mackenzie to Canterbury Park and Blenheim sales. Our bulls go into the high country throughout the South Island plus Taihape, Manawatu, Wairarapa, and Hawkes bay in the North Island.

By offering over 150 bulls annually through two sales we offer clients a wide selection of bulls that will suit their property and breeding programs.
